Two persons were killed and four others injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly hit an ambulance near Karera Khurd village on Panchkula-Yamunanagar NH on Friday.
The ambulance was carrying the body of Afsana (35) to UP from a Chandigarh hospital. Her mother Shakila (60), aunt Salma (55), brothers Aslam, Dilsad and father-in-law Ishak accompained the body.
When the ambulance reached near Karera Khurd village, a tractor-trailer coming from the opposite side rammed into it. Shakila and Salma died on the spot. Ambulance driver Ankit, Aslam, Dilshad and Ishak sustained injuries.
Manoj Kumar, SHO, Sadar police station, said a case was registered against the unidentified tractor driver.
Meanwhile, two cousin brothers — Amit and Ashish, aged about 19 years, of Dadupur Khurd village — died when a bus of UP Roadways allegedly rammed into a scooter at Nirmal Kutia Chowk on the NH-44 in Karnal on Saturday.
The unidentified bus driver has been booked. — TNS
