Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Mayor Suman Bahamani conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing developmental works and sanitation system of Ward 5 on Friday.

She checked the quality of the material being used, and inspected the attendance register of sanitation workers working in the ward.

The Mayor, Municipal Councillor Bhanu Pratap, Chief Sanitary Inspector Harjeet Singh, Sachin Kamboj, BJP leader Sanjeev Garg, Bhupender Saini and Rajender Malhotra visited Kalyan Nagar, Bhagirath Colony, Madhuban Colony and other areas of the ward.

She addressed the grievances of residents during the visit. She instructed the officials concerned to issue notices to owners of empty plots filled with garbage or without boundary walls.

“People should get boundary walls made for their empty plots. If they do not do so, notices will be issued to them by the MC,” the Mayor said.

After inspecting a construction site, she raised questions over the quality of work, calling the contractor to the spot.

The Mayor made it clear that poor quality construction material would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

She strictly warned the officials of the departments concerned to ensure that all developmental works should be done as per norms.

During the inspection, the Mayor expressed displeasure over garbage in a colony, especially in vacant plots.

“Instructions were given to the officials of the MC that all issues related to the public should be resolved soon so that the area residents do not have to face any problem,” Bahamani added.
