Yamunanagar MC begins 11-wk Swachhata Abhiyan

Additional Municipal Commissioner holds meeting with RWAs, NGOs and shopkeepers ensure participation of all residents

Aimed at making urban areas clean, neat and beautiful; the Haryana Government has launched the Haryana Swachhata Abhiyan-2025.

The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has started the drive ‘11 Weeks Dil Se Swachhata Ki Chah’. Under the drive, every locality, every colony and every street will be cleaned in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.

Holding a meeting with the officers and employees of the MCYJ, Additional Municipal Commissioner (AMC), Dheeraj Kumar said under the special drive, the MCYJ had started working on making the twin cities beautiful and clean.

He said the roads of the twin cities were being repaired and cleaned.

The AMC also held a meeting with various organisations, RWAs, NGOs and shopkeepers in the office of the MCYJ to ensure the participation of all residents in the special drive.

At the meeting, he appealed to everyone to cooperate with the municipal corporation in making the twin cities clean, neat and beautiful.

On the occasion, the AMC administered an oath to everyone to give full cooperation in making the twin cities beautiful.

At the same time, on the demand of the shopkeepers, he assured to get the cleaning work done on Sundays also.

He appealed to the officials of all organisations to run special cleanliness campaigns in their respective areas and make spread awareness.

He also appealed to them to take help of volunteers of the NSS, NCC and Scouts and students to raise awareness among city residents.

“The officials should stop people from throwing garbage on empty plots, open spaces, drains and gutters. People should also be made aware of dry and wet garbage and put these separately in the vehicle of the MCYJ only,” said AMC Dheeraj Kumar.

He said cleanliness was the responsibility of all. He appealed to the residents of the twin cities not to throw garbage in the open.

“People should put garbage only in dustbins or in the vehicles of the MCYJ coming door to door to collect garbage,” said Dheeraj Kumar. On the occasion, state president of the Udyog Vyapar Mandal, Mahinder Mittal, demanded the markets and other areas of twin cities be cleaned on Sundays also.
