He said helmets, mandatory documents and stolen vehicle checks were also part of the ongoing campaign.

The SP urged citizens to drive responsibly.

“I request the general public to park their vehicles only at designated parking spaces and drive their vehicles only in the designated lane. No one should endanger the lives of others along with their own lives. Therefore, everyone should drive safely,” he said.

He added that the traffic police had been instructed to ensure that no traffic jams occur in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.

“The police want that every driver should drive safely so that road accidents can be reduced in the district,” the SP said.

“This can only happen if everyone is aware of traffic rules. If every driver follows traffic rules, accidents can be prevented to a large extent,” he said.

The SP directed SHO, Traffic Police Station, Kushal Pal Rana, to issue maximum challans against those driving under the influence of alcohol, without number plates, using black films, using bullet crackers, riding without helmets and those carrying three passengers on motorcycles.
