Yamunanagar ups prep for Swachh survey
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha has instructed sanitary inspectors to visit every place in their wards to ensure cleanliness in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. He asked them to get commercial areas cleaned in the morning and at night, and to pay special attention to cleanliness across the twin cities — including at the railway station and bus stands.
Sinha issued these instructions in a meeting held recently with officials of the engineering branch and sanitation branch of the MC, and the Public Health Department, regarding the Swachh survey in Yamunanagar.
During the meeting, various topics — including cleanliness, door-to-door garbage collection, cleaning of public places, sewerage system, STPs, night sweeping, sweeping machines, garbage disposal plants, citizen feedback, swachhata portal, cleaning of parks and stormwater drains — were discussed in detail.
He said the survey team could come to the district anytime. He said he had asked officials to prepare a record of the work being done for the survey.
He added that officials had been instructed to update all data on the survey portal.
He said every sanitation worker should work in their uniforms, using a safety jacket and other equipment.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav, Executive Engineer Vikas Dhiman, Municipal Engineer Rajesh Sharma, Executive Engineer (Public Health Department) Dinesh Gaba, Chief Sanitary Inspectors Harjeet Singh and Sunil Dutt were among those present during the meeting.
