Yatra bid to bring people together: Brijendra

Resuming his 'Sadbhaav Yatra' on the second day from Belarkha village of Jind district today, Congress leader Brijendra Singh said some political sections tried to brand the farmers as traitors during the farmers' agitation, and later, attempts were made to spread religious tension in Mewat while adding that the communities in Haryana unitedly stood firm against such attempts.

Addressing people during the yatra in villages, he said he had embarked on the mission to oppose and nullify attempts by such political segments, particularly the BJP, which resorted to dividing society. “I aim to deepen the roots of dialogue and unity so that society guides politics, not the other way around,” he said.

Singh said that this journey was not merely a political campaign but an effort to connect the soul of Haryana. “When society engages in dialogue, politics based on hatred will naturally end,” he stated.

He paid tribute at the statue of legendary farmer leader, Ch Sir Chhotu Ram. At Ujhana village, he was honoured by people who weighed him in sweets. Several local leaders and villagers from Ujhana, Nepe, and Belerkha participated.

Singh highlighted that Haryana’s youth were forced to seek jobs abroad, farmers struggled for fair prices, and traders felt insecure, and that only through dialogue could solutions be found.
