Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta today held a meeting in the mini-secretariat here with officers of the local administration regarding preparations to deal with any type of disaster situation. He said that the district administration was in alert mode and all necessary preparations had been completed.

He said that as per the orders of the Haryana Government, all officers and employees should remain present in the district. “The leave of officers and employees, who have gone on leave, has been cancelled with immediate effect. They should make sure to join their duty. I have instructed all the officers and employees to keep their mobile phones on,” said DC Parth Gupta.

At the meeting, he directed the officials of the Health Department, Police Department, Public Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Municipal Corporation, Revenue Department, Panchayat Department and other departments to complete all the preparations in time. He directed the District Revenue Officer to update the disaster management plan soon. He said that teams had been deployed for relief and rescue.

Gupta added that special teams of NDRF and the district police force had been kept on high alert.

“Primary relief centres have been readied in the district where availability of food items, medicines, drinking water and other things has been ensured,” said DC Parth Gupta.

He said that a control room had been set up at the district headquarters for any emergency information. “The control room will work 24 hours. The control room number is 01732-237801. Any information can also be given on Dial 112,” said the DC.

He said that several places including district secretariat, ISGEC, paper mill and railway station had been identified where people would be alerted by sounding sirens.

“Similarly, people will be alerted by sounding sirens in schools, gurdwaras and religious places in all the panchayats so that people can be made aware of any kind of trouble,” said DC Parth Gupta.
