Yamunanagar-Jagadhri MC begins drive to lift construction waste
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has started a drive to lift construction and demolition waste (C&D waste) from the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
The authorities of the MCYJ have divided the twin cities into three zones and made phone numbers of junior engineers public for ward-wise removal of debris/construction waste.
By calling on these numbers, residents of twin cities can get the concrete debris lying around them lifted.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said that after the construction of roads, streets and buildings; some concrete debris remained on the sites, due to which, the common man had to face inconvenience while passing through the area.
He said that there was also a fear of accidents due to the presence of debris on roads.
“Now, residents of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri will not have to face this problem. For the lifting of concrete debris, we have made public the phone numbers of junior engineers ward wise. People can call them and get the concrete debris lifted,” said Sinha.
He said that three zones had been created for the lifting of C&D waste. He further said Executive Engineer Vikas Dhiman would monitor the lifting of concrete debris in all three zones.
“I have given strict instructions to all junior engineers to take the phone call of every resident seriously and get their problems resolved. Action will be taken against the engineers who are negligent in their work,” he said.
He said the officials were instructed to get the concrete debris weighed after lifting it and dispose it of in the lower areas of Gulaab Nagar, Gadhauli and Aurangabad areas.
“The officials have been asked to keep a record of the weight of concrete debris,” said Sinha. The MC has created Zone-I from wards 1 to 7, Zone-II from wards 8 to 15 and zone-III from wards 16 to 22.
Three earthmoving machines and around 10 tractor-trailers have been deployed for this work in all three zones. “Around 20 employees have also been deployed for lifting the concrete waste. As soon as a complaint is received on the numbers published by the MCYJ, the employees will go to the said place and lift the debris,” said Sinha.
