Yamunanagar police arrest three thieves, recover 22 bikes

Say accused admitted their involvement in 40 bike thefts

A team of the CIA-II of Yamunanagar police has arrested three persons and recovered 22 stolen motorcycles from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Akash of Vishnu Nagar colony, Rameshwar Shah and Harinder, alias Handa, of Gulab Nagar.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said that under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Rajiv Deswal, the district police were continuously taking strict action against criminals.

He said that nailing on criminals, a team of the CIA-II had busted a bike theft gang and recovered 22 stolen bikes by arresting three members of the gang.

He said that CIA-II in-charge Raj Kumar received information that three persons were roaming near Town Park of sector-18 of Jagadhri on a stolen bike.

He said that after getting this information, the CIA-II incharge formed a team, which arrested the three persons.

He said that they were identified as Akash, Rameshwar Shah and Harinder.

He further said that the accused had revealed 40 incidents of bike theft during interrogation.

He said that 22 stolen bikes had been recovered from the accused.

CIA-II in-charge Raj Kumar said that the accused had been committing thefts for several months.

He said that they had stolen bikes from various places, including Nehru Park, Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, Railway Workshop, Sector-18, of Jagadhri and other places.

He said one accused used to do recce of bikes, the second accused used to do recce of persons and the third accused used to steal the bike.

He added that the accused used to sell the bike in Uttar Pradesh.

"After the police remand came to an end, the accused were produced in a court of Jagadhri on Wednesday and the court sent them to judicial custody,” said Raj Kumar, in-charge, CIA-II.

He said that they were making efforts to arrest the fourth person involved in this bike theft case.
