Yoga protocol training held at Kurukshetra University
A yoga protocol training programme was organised by the Directorate of Sports, Kurukshetra University, at the new multipurpose hall on Saturday. This event was held in preparation for the International Yoga Day celebrations scheduled to be held on June 21 on the banks of Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra.
Addressing participants at the programme, Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva emphasised that yoga was a vital pathway to achieve a disease-free and healthy life. Prof Sachdeva highlighted that the prime objective of the 11th International Yoga Day was to raise global awareness about the physical and mental health benefits of yoga and to promote its widespread adoption.
Prof Sachdeva underscored the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for holistic well-being and called on all deans, directors, heads of departments, university officials, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students and researchers to actively participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations at Brahma Sarovar.
The training was conducted by yoga assistant Manjeet Singh and Prof Nirupama Bhatti of Kurukshetra University. Meditation training was given by Dr Jaideep Arya, Chairman, Haryana Yoga Commission. On the occasion, tree plantation was also held by the Vice-Chancellor and other guests.
