Three youths who were injured in an encounter with a police team on the night of August 12 have been arrested after their treatment.
The arrested youths, identified as Pushpender and Azad of Rajasthan and Ayush of Behlba village in Rohtak district, were produced before a local court, which remanded them in police custody for two days.
CIA-1 wing in-charge Inspector Kuldeep Singh said a police patrolling team saw three youths coming on a motorcycle on the night of August 12 and signalled them to stop.
“The youths sped away and fired at the police team on being chased. The police personnel also fired at them, in which two youths sustained bullet injuries and one got hurt as the motorcycle fell down,” he said.
A case was registered against the youths under Sections 132, 221,109(1), 3(5) of the BNS and the Arms Act.
They were admitted to the local PGIMS and have been arrested after undergoing treatment, said the police officer.
As per the police, the said youths were involved in a case of looting cash and jewelry from an iron trader on Jhajjar Road at Rohtak on August 7.
A case under Sections 309(4), 311 and 332(B) of the BNS and Arms Act was registered regarding the case of looting. As per the police, Pushpender and Ayush have a criminal record.
