Youngsters urged to explore entrepreneurial opportunities

A one-day workshop titled “Empowering Youth for a Self-Reliant India” was organised at Indira Gandhi National College, Ladwa, in collaboration with Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Haryana.

Malkeet Singh, Lead District Manager, Punjab National Bank, elaborated on several banking support systems and motivated students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities across different sectors.

Dr Virender Pal, Associate Professor, DAV College, Cheeka, and a mushroom farming entrepreneur shared his personal journey. He expressed concern over the shortage of skilled individuals in India.

Deepak Narwal, District Head, MSME Kurukshetra, elaborated on schemes and subsidies offered by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Rajesh Kumar of the Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Kurukshetra, briefed the audience about the diverse training programmes offered by the institute. OP Sharma, Financial Literacy Coordinator, and Neelam Panchal, Financial Literacy Counsellor, Krishi Foundation, discussed several important government financial schemes and insurance plans, including NPS, Atal Pension Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan.

Dr Ankeshwar Prakash, Controller of Examinations, Kurukshetra University, who was the chief guest, encouraged the youth to take charge.

Professor Kushal Pal, principal of the college, said the workshop proved to be highly motivating, encouraging the youth to step forward towards self-reliance.
