They even locked the police station allegedly for changing the dying statement of the victim. On the assurance of DSP Assandh Dalbir Singh about registering an FIR, the family members ended their protest.

“My son was working under Vikas, a resident of Chandlana who runs an IELTS-cum-study abroad centre. My son had got relatives and friends to invest around Rs 45 lakh for sending them abroad to study, but Vikas cheated them and provided fake IELTS certificates. Vikas did not return the money, forcing my son to take this step,” said Jai Parkash, father of the victim.

He alleged that his son had given a statement against Vikas but it was changed by the police.

DSP Assandh Dalbir Singh denied the allegation and said that the family provided the suicide note on Saturday. On the basis of the suicide note, they have registered a case against Vikas for abetment to suicide. — TNS
