Youth jobless, staff shortage at schools, hospitals: Abhay Singh Chautala
Kurukshetra, August 23
INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala today trained his guns on the BJP and Congress and called upon party workers to work hard to bring about a change in the state in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He was addressing a joint meeting of the INLD and BSP workers and leaders of the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency at the Pipli grain market.
In his address, Abhay said, “Before coming to power, the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to bring black money back, implement Swaminathan Report and create more employment opportunities for the youth. However, instead of fulfilling its promises, the BJP took anti-people decisions. Before the Lok Sabha elections, the INLD gave the call of forming a third front in the country, but the Congress didn’t let our party be a part of the INDIA bloc. If INLD was a part of the INDIA bloc, it would have won all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state.”
“Under the BJP’s rule, corruption has flourished, law and order situation has deteriorated, educated youths are sitting unemployed and there is a shortage of staff at schools and hospitals. Youngsters are forced to go abroad in search of jobs. All sections of society are unhappy with the wrong policies of the BJP. The people of Haryana want to bring about a change and keep the Congress away from power,” he said.
Taking a dig at the BJP, Abhay said, “The Chief Minister made a number of announcements over the past few days, and even changed several decisions taken by the government. By changing its decisions, the government has accepted that the BJP government took wrong decisions. The Congressmen are trying to woo the voters with tall claims but they don’t even know the problems being faced by people in the rural areas. During the regime of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the government was only restricted in Rohtak while the rest of the Haryana faced discrimination.”
Abhay called upon the party workers to work hard in the field and said, “Time has come to bring a change and send a message across the country. The INLD has always worked for the welfare of the people and fulfilled its promises. You should work hard and tell people about the wrong decisions of the BJP.”
He further told the workers that the INLD and BSP had decided that if voted to power, the senior citizens would get a pension of Rs 7,500, and the age criteria for pension would be reduced from 60 to 58 years. In addition, government jobs would be given to educated youths on the basis of competency in each house, and those left without jobs would be given Rs 21,000 unemployment allowance.
INLD state chief Rampal Majra, former Ladwa MLA Sher Singh Barshami and several other INLD and BSP leaders were also present during the meeting.
