Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will be the chief guest at the event, which will be organised by the district administration.
To facilitate participation, the administration has launched a dedicated website (rundabwali.com), where interested runners can register online for free. Participants can choose from three race categories: 5 km, 10 km and 21.1 km. Registration can be done at rundabwali.com/register by submitting name, mobile number, age group and address.
Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma said the marathon would be held under 18, 18 to 45, 45 to 60 and above 60 age categories. Winners in each category will be awarded cash prizes.
According to Sharma, the marathon aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, encourage fitness and foster a positive and healthy lifestyle among young people. It also seeks to build a drug-free environment and promote sports and community engagement.
Following the success of the recent cyclothon in Sirsa, the administration expects a large turnout in Dabwali. Arrangements regarding the marathon route, venue and security are being coordinated by the officials concerned.
