Youth nabbed for killing minor girl in Faridabad
The crime branch of the local police on Saturday arrested a youth in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old girl in Dabua Colony here. The accused, identified as Pawan, a resident of Faridabad, was arrested from Palwal.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, the accused, hailing from Khalilabad in UP, had allegedly stabbed the girl at her house on January 18. It is alleged that Pawan, who wanted to marry the girl against her wishes, came to her house and assaulted her with a knife, leading to her death.
He fled the spot after committing the crime. The accused, who was known to the girl, had been pressuring her to marry him. He had also abducted the girl in April last year with an intention to marry her. However, he was nabbed and sent to jail. He was released on bail on September 9 last year.
The accused came to her house and stabbed her due to enmity following the registration of a case against him, it is revealed. Though the accused had been changing his place frequently, he was arrested on the basis of inputs.
The accused will be taken on police remand for further interrogation. It may be recalled that the victim’s kin had alleged slackness on part of the Police Department, which allegedly led to the murder of the girl.
