Youth opens fire at woman, daughter in Faridabad; arrested
The crime branch of the local police has arrested a person for allegedly opening fire at a woman and her minor daughter over an old enmity in Sector 3 here on Saturday.
A police official said the accused, identified as Vikas from Mirzapur village, had allegedly opened fire on Deepa, a teacher, and fled the spot.
As the bullet fired by the accused hit her back, her daughter got injured as the pellet hit her foot in the incident. The accused had reached the victim’s house before he committed the crime.
While both the victims admitted in the hospital are reported to be out of danger, the police managed to nab the culprit from a spot near Machhgar village here as soon as the complaint was lodged with the police.
The accused, who is a driver, is reported to have told the officials that he wanted to take revenge as her husband had allegedly killed Vikas’ brother-in-law in 2022.
The police have seized a pistol, four cartridges and two wheeler.
The accused, who has been taken on police remand for further investigation, has been booked in nine cases.
