Youth Red Cross camp inspires students to serve humanity

Over 80 NSS volunteers, officials from 12 colleges in Sirsa district attend camp

A five-day Youth Red Cross training camp was organised at the Jannayak Chaudhary Devi Lal (JCD) Vidyapeeth in Sirsa. The camp, aimed at promoting humanitarian values among students and was attended by over 80 NSS volunteers and officials from 12 colleges in Sirsa district.

Arjun Singh Chautala, the president of the university and MLA of Rania, was the chief guest on the occasion. He emphasised the importance of the Red Cross Society as a humanitarian organisation dedicated to health, service and friendship. Chautala encouraged the students to actively participate in Red Cross activities and contribute to society selflessly.

Dr Jai Prakash, the director-general of the university, welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of selfless service and philanthropy. He informed the gathering about various activities undertaken by the Red Cross Society, such as blood donation camps and providing artificial limbs to the disabled.

The camp also included a health check-up camp and a session on road safety by Saurav Rohilla, a road safety officer. Rohilla highlighted the alarming number of road accidents and urged the participants to follow traffic rules.
