Youth tries to ‘molest’ minor girl, thrashed in Faridabad

A 22-year-old youth, suspected of trying to abduct and molest a minor girl, was thrashed after being tied to an electric pole in Ballabhgarh on Sunday.

The suspect has been identified as Sonu, alias Altaf. As per sources, the suspect tried to lure the girl by offering her toffees and forced her to accompany him when she was playing in the park. The suspect was allegedly in an inebriated state. After the girl’s father got suspicious, he raised an alarm and some locals rushed for her help. The suspect was tied to a pole and beaten up on the suspicion of trying to kidnap the girl for committing sexual offence. Though the accused claimed that he was not trying to abduct the minor girl, the beating continued till the police reached the spot and took him to the police station for investigation. Father of the girl said that the accused was beaten up in anger as the accused was not only trying to kidnap his daughter but also molested her in the attempt.
