It has been established in the first information report (FIR) lodged by the police on the complaint of Vicky in this respect. Four persons, identified as Anshul, Robin, Love Malik and Rahul Sehrawat, along with their friends have been booked under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.

In the FIR, Vicky said he engaged in a verbal duel with Pradeep Mota and Anshul over some issue two years ago. The issue was also settled at that time but the attack was carried out with an intention to kill him following the enmity.

The crime was perpetrated when Vicky along with his friend Hitesh had come to the MDU campus to drink tea. After taking tea, Hitesh sat in his car and Vicky began walking while attending to a phone call.

“The accused carrying wooden sticks and other weapons attacked me. Even, they opened several rounds of fire on me with an intention to kill me. I immediately ran from there and protected myself by hiding at a hospital. They, along with others, fled in a Scorpio and a Thar vehicle and threatened to kill me. Thereafter, many students gathered on the spot,” said Vicky in the police complaint.
