The police have started an investigation after registering a case against eight individuals based on a complaint filed by the victim’s son, Ashish. The crime took place when Chauhan was taking a walk in the village after dinner.

According to Ashish, a villager came to their house and informed the family that Chauhan was lying injured alongside a road.

“We rushed to the spot and took him to a hospital in Heli Mandi. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to another medical facility. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries,” said the complainant.

The Machhrauli police station SHO, Sub-Inspector Parveen, said CCTV footage from the area was being examined.

“We are closely analysing surveillance videos from nearby locations to identify the accused. The victim’s family has named several individuals, and we are pursuing leads accordingly,” he said.

The incident has triggered outrage among local journalists and the digital content creator community.

Tapasvi Sharma, president of Janmanch Patrakar Sangh, Jhajjar, strongly condemned the killing, and demanded swift justice. “We will soon meet with senior police officials to press for the immediate arrest of those involved,” Sharma said.
