The INLD has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure the provision of Haryana’s due share of water. Party workers staged a ‘matka-fod’ demonstration in protest against the stoppage of Haryana’s water by the Punjab Government. The protesters, led by INLD state president Rampal Majra, also submitted a memorandum to the Union Government through the local administration.

The INLD workers alleged that the Punjab Government had curtailed the provision of due water share to Haryana, but no concrete efforts were being made to bring Haryana’s due share of water to the state. “The BJP as well as the Congress are indulging in politics over the sensitive issue even though the water crisis is getting more and more intense in Haryana,” they lamented. The INLD workers, however, hailed ‘Operation Sindoor’ launched by the Indian Armed Forces, maintaining that the entire nation was united in the fight against terrorism. Such protest demonstrations were held in several other districts as well.
