A diet including avocado improves the ability to focus in overweight adults, say researchers. For the findings, researchers conducted a 12-week study of daily meals to 84 overweight or obesity adults. “Previous work has shown that overweight and obese adults are at a higher risk for cognitive decline and dementia in older age,” the study said. The meals were identical in calories and macronutrients, but one group’s meals included a fresh avocado every day. The researchers found the participants having avocados improved their ability to maintain focus on the task at hand even in the face of distraction.
