Health Minister conducts surprise check at Patiala Hospital
Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh paid a surprise visit to the Mata Kaushalya Government Hospital to review the available healthcare services and the process of free medicine distribution this morning.
He visited the hospital’s OPD, Emergency, ICU, Ultrasound Department, and wards, where he interacted directly with patients and took their feedback about the services.
Expressing satisfaction over the positive feedback from patients, he said that public trust in government health institutions is growing.
Singh shared that the number of patients visiting the OPD daily has now reached between 1,500 and 1,800, which is clear evidence of the increasing trust in government services. He announced the replacement of the old and outdated X-ray machine with a new one and stated that the number of machines will be increased to two, so that no patient has to wait for long.
He also conducted a special review of the ultrasound services and mentioned that this service has proven to be highly beneficial for patients.
The Health Minister said under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, they are committed to making Punjab a healthy and drug-free state. He added that he will continue to make such surprise visits to every hospital and health center.
