The operation targeted plantations spread across three villages — Bhar, Barathwan and Bhulang — marking one of the largest seizures in recent years.

Four cases have been registered under the NDPS Act. Authorities collected samples for chemical analysis before destroying the remaining crops.

Mandi SP Sakshi Verma termed the operation a significant step toward curbing narcotic cultivation, stating that strict legal action would be taken against offenders. Revenue records are being examined to trace the landowners and cultivators involved.
