Nurpur, November 25
The police today solved the murder case of a minor shepherd (15), whose body was recovered from a forest near Sahora village in Indora subdivision last evening. The victim, identified as Illias Mohammad, had gone to the forest for grazing sheep and was allegedly murdered by two persons belonging to his community with a sickle. The accused also snatched his new mobile phone.
Mohammad belonged to a nomadic Gujjar family and had come from Chamba district to Sahora village in Indora with his livestock. The police after conducting preliminary investigation arrested Yakub Deen, a resident of Thohra Bhaloon (Nurpur), and Yakub, a resident of Ghandrah village in Indora. Mohammad’s mobile phone was also recovered from their possession. A forensic team from Dharamsala also visited the crime scene today and collected circumstantial evidence.
Nurpur SDPO Ashok Rattan said that on the complaint of Mohammad’s father, a murder case was registered against the duo. They would be produced in court tomorrow.
