About 1.87 lakh cases were resolved during the special drive of Revenue Lok Adalats in about nine months from October 2023 to July 2024, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said here today.
He said out of the total 1,85,565 cases, 1,63,268 cases were of mutations, 9,417 partitions, 12,453 demarcations and 2,427 revenue correction cases which were resolved through these special courts across the state. 31,500 revenue cases alone have been disposed during the month of July 2024, he added.
He said the special drive was an initiative of the state government to redress revenue-related grievances of people which has shown remarkable results.
“The numbers speak for themselves and the overwhelming response to the Revenue Lok Adalats has effectively resolved a record number of pending revenue cases in a time-bound manner. It is for the first time that any state government has focused on disposing of pending revenue cases on a mission mode, and tangible results are evident,” he said.
He further stated that the special drive to hold Revenue Lok Adalats started in October 2023, and now these courts are conducted in the last two working days of every month to expedite the pending revenue-related cases. Sukhu reiterated the state’s commitment to offering quality services on the doorstep.
