Narinder Kumar (40), a resident of Thanger, Nurpur, who was an assistant professor at Arya Government College, Nurpur, died in an accident after the car in which he was travelling fell into a roadside gorge near Harsar in Jawali today morning.
As per the information, the victim and his friend, Manjeet Kumar, an English college lecturer and a resident of Jawalamukhi, were going to Naina Devi when their car suddenly skidded while negotiating a turn and fell into a gorge. The locals rushed them to the nearby Jawali hospital, where Narinder Kumar was declared brought dead, while Manjeet, who was driving the car, sustained minor injuries and was being treated at the hospital.
The deceased is survived by his mother and younger sister. Onkar Singh, DSP, Jawali, said the body was sent to the Nurpur Civil Hospital for postmortem and afterwards handed over to the family. A case under Sections 279, 337 and 304(A) of the IPC was registered.
