10-day training camp on mushroom farming ends
The 10-day mushroom farming training camp organised by Punjab National Bank’s Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) for women of Samrala village near here concluded today. As many as 35 women from the village received training in mushroom farming.
The Project Officer of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Asmita Thakur, while addressing trainees on the occasion, said after receiving training through RSETI, women were empowered to set up their own enterprise individually or collectively. She said the process of production, marketing and processing of mushrooms would help women in generating good income at home. Lauding the training programmes of RSETI, Asmita Thakur said these training programmes were proving to be beneficial for women in villages.
District Lead Bank Manager Tashi Namgyal said women can start their own enterprises by taking advantage of the loan schemes of banks and subsidy schemes of various departments.
He apprised the women of various loan schemes and processes of digital banking. He added that digital banking was easy, but must be used with caution.
Earlier, RSETI Director Ajay Kumar Katana provided detailed information about various activities and achievements of the institute.
Financial literacy advisor GC Bhatti, training camp Evaluators Somdatt Sharma and Devi Ram were also present.
