Shimla: 10 days on, Nerwa jeweller murder case unresolved

Ten days after the body of a Bihar resident was found inside a water tank in Nerwa in Shimla district, police are yet to solve the case. According to reports, the suspect is yet to be identified.

On February 19, the body of the Bihar resident, who was running a jeweller shop in Nerwa market, was found inside a water tank at his rented accommodation. This sent shockwaves in the area. The body had injury marks. His neighbours had informed the police, after which they recovered the body and also collected evidence.

According to the police, a stone and a knuckle duster were found from the crime scene. A forensic team also inspected the crime scene and collected evidence.

Nerwa SHO Jayant said the investigation is underway and the suspect would soon be arrested. He said the body had been sent for post-mortem, and its report would be received on Friday.

He said the police has not zeroed in on any suspect as no strong evidence has been found against any particular person so far.
