100 patients examined at free camp in Hamirpur
Over 100 patients were examined at a free medical camp organised by Park Hospital in collaboration with Mata Janki Nursing College here today. Two medical experts including Dr Anil Sofat (neurosurgery) and Dr Rahul Kakar (gastroenterology) examined patients from 11 am to 3 pm.
Dr Sofat said that currently there is no neurosurgeon available in the area, prompting the Park Hospital’s management to provide neurology related consultations at the local level. He said that Park Hospital is equipped with best neurosurgery facilities to help patients dealing with serious conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
He added that Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that primarily affects memory, thinking and reasoning skills. It is also the most common cause of dementia.
Meanwhile, Dr Rahul Kakkar stressed the importance of adopting healthy eating habits to avoid gastroenterology related issues. He noted that many patients examined during the camp were suffering due to poor dietary practices.
The chief general manager of Park Hospital sated that the Park group operates a network of 13 NABH accredited multi-super specialty hospitals. He further added that Park Hospitals offer 30 super specialty and specialty services, including internal medicine, neurology, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics and oncology.
