Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania attended the Nav Nabh Nirman programme as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of St Thomas’ School, Shimla.
Congratulating the students, teachers and alumni, Pathania expressed his pride and joy at being part of the school’s historic milestone. “It is a matter of immense pride to witness the glorious celebration of 100 years of St Thomas’ School,” he said. Rev Manoj Charan, chairperson of the school and Bishop of the Diocese of Amritsar (CNI), was present as the special guest.
Pathania described the occasion as a tribute to a century-long journey of excellence in education, character-building and service. “This institution has stood the test of time and empowered generations to make meaningful contributions to society through knowledge, discipline and values,” he remarked, praising the vision of the founders, the dedication of teachers and the accomplishments of students and alumni.
The programme featured a mesmerising light and sound show that creatively depicted the transformation of St Thomas from a Native Church to a premier educational institution. It traced the school’s journey from its founding by noted educationist Miss Helen Jerwood in 1912 to its present-day status as a CBSE-affiliated co-educational school.
