At least 11 passengers sustained minor injuries after a private bus overturned near Fagvaho on the Rohanda-Nerchowk road, under the Sundernagar Subdivision, in Mandi district last evening. However, all injuries have been categorised as minor.
According to the Mandi Superintendent of Police, Sakshi Verma, preliminary findings indicate that the bus, which was carrying as many as 25 passengers, overturned after the driver lost control over it.
The injured passengers were promptly rushed to the Medical College at Nerchowk with the assistance of ambulance services.
“The incident appears to be caused by the driver losing control of the vehicle. A total of 11 persons with minor injuries were rushed to the hospital for medical care,” SP Verma stated. She added that a police team rushed to the spot immediately after the accident was reported.
A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the mishap. Authorities are also assessing whether mechanical failure or driver negligence contributed to the accident.
