Una, August 1

Twelve candidates were elected unopposed to various posts of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Una district on Sunday after the last date for the withdrawal of nominations for the ongoing panchayat byelections.

Raghav Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, stated in a press note that the candidates were declared elected unopposed to the Takoli Panchayat Samiti, besides 11 posts of ward member in Dhatol, Sohari, Takoli, Kutheda Kairla, Dharamsala Mahantan, Haleda Bilna, Panjawar Lower, Dharampur, Ispur, Basal Lower and Samoor Kalan panchayats.

He said the elections to the remaining seats, including for the up-pradhan of Karmali panchayat and ward members of Deehar, Baduhi, Malangar, Panjawar, Baliwal and Chattara panchayats, would be held on August 10. The results would be declared the same day.
