In a major step toward strengthening social security and expanding opportunities for vulnerable women, the state government has sanctioned Rs 36 lakh for constructing houses for 12 eligible beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Widow and Single Woman Housing Scheme. Each woman will receive Rs 3 lakh to help her secure a safe, permanent home.
During his recent visit to Karsog, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu distributed the first instalment of Rs 1.5 lakh to each beneficiary, marking a significant milestone in the rollout of the scheme.
According to a government spokesperson, the scheme supports women in difficult circumstances.
