130 donate blood on 4th death anniversary of philanthropist

A blood donation camp was organised on the fourth death anniversary of noted philanthropist and former president of Nurpur Municipal Council RK Mahajan by his family here on the premises of Ram Singh Pathania Memorial on Sunday. As many as 130 volunteers, including 29 women, donated blood at the camp. The camp was organised in collaboration with the Nurpur Blood Donors’ Club.
A team of blood bank, Zonal Hospital, Dharamshala, led by Dr Vivek Sharma collected blood at the camp.
Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar, Kangra MP Rajiv Bhardwaj, MLA Ranbir Singh Nikka, former local MLA Ajay Mahajan, former Rajya Sabha MP Kripal Parmar and All India Mahajan Sabha president were present at the camp.
On the occasion, Rajiv Pathania, president, Nurpur Blood Donors’ Club, said, “Organizing a blood donation camp in the memory of a philanthropist is a real tribute to the departed soul. The family of the philanthropist has become Nikshay Mitras for tuberculosis patients. The family has distributed 20 nutritious food kits among patients of the area through ASHA workers. Patients will be given such kits for the next six months to mark the fourth death anniversary of the philanthropist.”
A community lunch was also hosted on the occasion.
