At just 15, Shreya Bhardwaj is proving that discipline and passion can take talent to extraordinary heights. Representing India at the Asian Cadet Cup 2025, which began on September 19 in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, Shreya’s selection came after a stellar performance at the Cadet U-17 National Fencing Championships, also held in Haldwani on September 13.

Granddaughter of Lt Col MR Bhardwaj and daughter of Amit Bhardwaj, she carries a legacy of grit and perseverance. But Shreya’s journey is not confined to fencing alone. She is also a national-level shooter in 10m Air Pistol, a state-level shooter in 25m and 50m categories and a state-level equestrian, with medals adorning her track record.

Her versatility extends to the arts: she loves music, plays instruments and dances with equal flair. In 2024 alone, she participated in seven national-level championships in fencing and shooting, while also scoring an impressive 95% in her Class 10 boards. Trained at the National Institute of Sports, Patiala, in fencing and coached by her father in shooting, Shreya embodies a rare blend of academic brilliance, athletic excellence and artistic spirit.
