Over 150 people underwent health check-ups at a medical camp organised by the Shivalik Nursing Institute under the "Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan" at Chhakrail village in Chamiana, Bhattakufar, Shimla. The camp was held in collaboration with the Community Medicine Department of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) as part of the nationwide campaign to improve the health and nutrition of women and children.

Health teams, assisted by student nurses, carried out tests including blood sugar, haemoglobin estimation, blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI).

Dr Amit Sachdeva, Assistant Professor of Community Medicine at IGMC, said, “The focus of the campaign is on improving the health status of women who play a pivotal role in bringing up families. Screening for various conditions like cancer and anaemia, antenatal services and awareness programmes on nutrition will enable remedial action at an early stage.”
