168 scholars, 64 teachers attend workshop

Applications ranging from UV-visible and FTIR spectroscopy, X-Ray diffraction to mass spectrometry were discussed during the two-day virtual workshop on analytical instrumentation that concluded today.

As many as 168 scholars and 64 teachers from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) and various colleges of the state participated in the workshop organised by the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF) and Maharaja Lakshman Sen Memorial College (MLSM), Sundernagar, for the teachers and postgraduate science students.

Raj Kumar, patron-in-chief and Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the chief guest. Principal of MLSM College CP Kaushal said that such workshops were particularly useful for students from a rural background in Himachal.

The workshop had two lecture series. A detailed demonstration along with hands-on experience on the use of numerous analytical instrumentation techniques was provided to the students and the teachers.
