Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh today said that a budget of Rs 19 crore had been approved for the widening of the Rohru-Chirgaon road. “People have been demanding the widening and upgrade of the road for a long time. Keeping this in mind, the state government will widen the road to ease traffic and tourists coming here will get better facilities,” he added.
The minister, while addressing a school function at Rohru, said that the government was making a new scheme with the help of the Central Government for villages that were yet not linked with a road. “Such villages will be connected to roads in the next two years. As soon as the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana Phase-4 starts in the state, the work to connect these villages to roads will be started,” he added.
