During the programme, people were informed about various government-run tribal welfare schemes through exhibitions organised by different departments.

She emphasised that continuous efforts were being made to ensure that the benefits of various schemes run by both the Union and state governments reach the intended beneficiaries in a timely manner.

The ADM also informed that 19 tribal villages across 16 panchayats in Kangra district have been selected under the Utkarsh Abhiyan. She added that an awareness campaign would be conducted until June 30 to ensure that residents of the selected villages can avail themselves of various development schemes.

On the occasion, the ADM planted a sapling of Araucaria heterophylla and visited stalls set up by various departments, including the Child Development Department, Health Department and District Red Cross Society.
