2,230 quintal peas sent to markets from Chamba

Chamba: As many as 2,230 quintals of peas have been transported to the markets outside the district, said Deputy Director (Agriculture), Dr Suresh Sharma, here on Saturday. Dr Sharma said for the transportation of peas and other vegetables, 30 curfew passes had been issued for plying the vehicles. Simultaneously, curfew passes were also being issued online to farmers for selling locally produced vegetables in the local markets. OC

Quack booked in Baddi

Solan: The Baddi police on Saturday registered a case against Kangkan Kakchi (38), a quack and native of Uttar Pradesh, who was operating as a doctor at Gullerwala in the Baddi industrial area. The police along with the Drug Inspector and his team raided Anmol Clinic that he was running. SP Rohit Malpani said a case under Sections 188, 269 and 270 of the IPC was registered against him at Baddi. TNS

Units allowed to operate in Solan

Solan: Manufacturing and other industrial establishments have been permitted to operate in designated industrial estates and townships in Solan district by the District Magistrate in orders issued late Friday evening. Private construction works in rural areas have also been allowed from 8 am to 5 pm where the workers are available on site. TNS

NCC cadets fighting Covid-19

Mandi: Lieut Col DS Thakur, administrative officer of Himachal Pradesh Army NCC Battalion, said NCC cadets were serving in four districts to fight Covid-19. Around 150 NCC cadets are deployed in Mandi district. They are also deployed in three other districts to ensure social distancing among people during the curfew relaxation period. TNS

Kangra: Activists of the Women Congress and Mahila Mandals in Shahpur are making masks for distribution free of cost among people. Kewal Singh Pathania, general secretary of the HPCC, said 75 women workers had made thousands of masks for distribution at seven centres in the segment. OC
