2 arrested for stealing goods worth ~2.12L

The police arrested a migrant woman operating as a junk dealer and a local youth in Parwanoo in a case of theft.
Dharam Singh, a resident of Parwanoo, had lodged a complaint with the police on July 29 that three motors and 580 dip trays were stolen from a Sector 1 based company. He said that the latch of the main gate was open and the staff found that some items worth Rs 2.12 lakh were missing.
The police registered a case of theft. On examining the CCTV footage, a person named Harish Ganju (26) was found stealing the items.
The accused, a resident of Kamli village in Parwanoo, was arrested yesterday and two motors were recovered from the stolen items. The accused had also been involved in two cases of theft registered in Kalka.
Another person was found to be involved in the case. Promila (48), from Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh), who is a junk dealer and operates from Sector 5 in Parwanoo was arrested today. The duo was produced in court today and further probe was underway. — TNS
