The state has witnessed a surge in Covid cases after the stranded residents started returning from other states since April 26. More than 4,000 people have entered Nalagarh since then and 21 positive cases have been detected.

The chief medical officer, Solan, has been directed to distribute pamphlets, explaining the need of home quarantine, to those entering the state.

The police will scan the Covid permit verification application at the inter-state barriers and maintain a data base of those coming back. The SDMs, block development officers, executive officers of urban local bodies and nagar panchayats will ensure that the persons, who fail to reach their destination as indicated in the e-pass, are traced and booked under the HP Epidemic Disease (Covid-19) Regulation, 2020 besides other Acts. This will curb the tendency of those who enter the state surreptitiously to avoid quarantine.
