Police have arrested two persons, both natives of Haryana, and seized 58 grams of heroin from their possession on the Kullu-Manali National Highway in the Manali subdivision, officials said on Thursday.

Kullu SP Kathikeyan Gokulachandran state that the SIT had intercepted a car during a routine inspection. Upon conducting a thorough search, officers found a substantial quantity of heroin hidden inside the car, leading to the immediate arrest of the two suspects.

The accused identified as Gurdeep Kumar (28) from Laha village and Happy (35) from Lakhnoura village, both residents of Narayangarh in Haryana, have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Police said an extensive investigation has been launched to trace the network behind the acquisition and distribution of these illicit substances.
