2 killed as car skids into gorge

Chamba, January 21

Two persons were killed in a car accident which occurred at Kashiri on Dand road near Kihar in Chamba district when the car they were traveling in veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge last evening, the police said here today.

Police said that car driver died on the spot while another travelling in the car was seriously injured. He was referred to Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (DRPGMC) Tanda (Kangra) where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased had been identified as Mausam Din (car driver) and Iqbal.

A case of rash and negligent driving under sections 279,337, 304(A) of the IPC has been registered at Kihar police station for further investigations, the police stated. — OC
