After a 26-year-old resident of Anuhi village in Jawali was tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the local administration today sealed the entire Rajol and its adjoining Ambhal gram panchayat. Police nakas have been set up on all entry and exit points in these panchayats.
The patient, Onkar Singh, is an employee in Jalandhar. He, along with three others, entered the state by giving the police the slip.
The administration has also sanitised Anuhi village and shifted his parents and one of his aunts to a quarantine centre at Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala. Last evening, Onkar Singh was rushed to the Tanda medial college in a specially designed ambulance.
The DSP, Jawali, said a case under Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act -2005 and Sections 188, 269, 270 and 120(B) of the IPC had been registered against the pradhan and the secretary of the Rajol gram panchayat for not giving information about his arrival at the village. An FIR had also been registered against the Covid patient.
DC, Kangra, Rakesh Prajapati said the Covid patient and Pawan Kumar of Chamba district along with two others were stopped on the Bhadroya interstate border by a police team deployed there on April 10.
“The police took them to a quarantine centre at Mohatli in Indora, but on reaching there they refused for their quarantine by taking the plea that they were returning to Punjab from where they have come. They were released by the police on the nearby interstate border, but after waiting for some time they managed to enter the state one by one in four different vegetable vehicles (jeeps) entering the state.”
