222 roads still closed, expect more rain in Himachal from July 27

Heavy rainfall a few days ago has caused widespread disruptions in the state. As a result, 222 roads are still closed for vehicular traffic. The worst-affected is Mandi district, where 144 roads, including the Manali-Kotali National Highway-70, are closed. Heavy rainfall has also affected 36 electricity transformers and 152 water supply schemes across the state.

Over the past 24 hours, the state has received significant rainfall. The Jatton Barrage recorded 54 mm of rain, Poanta Sahib (41 mm) and Kufri (33.5 mm). The monsoon season, which began on June 20, has left 82 dead and 34 missing so far.

The state is likely to see a spike in precipitation July 27 onwards.
