The police seized 26.68 grams of ‘chitta’ and smack and arrested four persons in Paonta Sahib and Kala Amb of Sirmaur district on Wednesday.

A Special Investigation Unit (SIU) team was patrolling in Dhaula Kuan, Kolar and Paonta Sahib when it got a tip-off that Naveen Panishta of Adarsh Colony, Badri Pur, and Bilal of Matak Majri in Uttarakhand were in Panishta’s clinic with narcotics. The team immediately raided the clinic, apprehended both men and recovered 15.24 grams of ‘chitta’ from their possession. A case under the NDPS Act was registered at the Paonta Sahib police station and the duo was arrested.

The second recovery was made when a Special Detection Team from Paonta Sahib received information that Afroz of Kunja in Dhali Pur of Uttarakhand was allegedly selling smack at his chicken shop at Matralian. The team raided the shop and seized 9.44 grams of contraband. A case under the NDPS Act was registered at the Puruwala police station and Afroz was arrested.

In the third case, the Kala Amb police noticed a car parked in Shubh Kheda Colony at Moginand. They questioned Naseem and Saleem Mohammad and a packet lying near their feet was found to be containing two grams of ‘chitta’. Both were booked under the NDPS Act.
