28 project worth Rs 1,734 cr approved for setting up industrial enterprises in Himachal

The 31st meeting of the State Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority (SSWCMA) today approved 28 project proposals for establishing industrial enterprises and expanding existing units, with a proposed investment of Rs 1,734.65 crore and potential to generate employment for about 5,388 persons.

The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, reaffirmed that the sustained flow of investment reflects Himachal Pradesh’s standing as a preferred industrial destination.

The Chief Minister directed that each proposal should include a detailed skill-wise employment plan, and that efforts should be made to attract labour-intensive and green industries, particularly in the IT, ITeS, and tourism sectors. He also instructed officials to review the existing lease transfer rates in industrial areas and to frame a conversion policy for industrial plots located in inner areas.

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) RD Nazeem, Secretaries Priyanka Basu Ingty and Rakhil Kahlon, Director of Industries Yunus, and other senior officers attended the meeting.
